Today I’m sharing a transitional design idea for a guest room mood board! Get all the links below.
Design Details
Who can resist earthy colors and muted patterns?! This was a Custom Mood Board design I did back in the Fall that turned out so perfect. They were gracious to let me share the design with you!
The key to a transitional design style is incorporating lots of textures, and keeping the color scheme earthy and more on the subtle side.
You can see some color in this design like the rust pillows and green bench, which add some dimension to the overall look. You don’t want so many neutrals that the room goes flat!
Natural elements like wood, and textures like linen, cotton, or velvet add so much to this design. Include a few patterns around the room to really bring it together.
You could add a jute rug in here too!

Order A Mini E-Design
I still have spots available for design orders! Custom Mood Boards are perfect for getting design ideas flowing for a tricky space.
Tell me your style, what you need help with, and anything else I need to know. I’ll create a unique design idea for you to keep! Along with all the links and sources you need.
If you need a little more help, a Mini E-Design package is really the sweet spot. This package includes a 45 minute design consultation for us to talk through your space, troubleshoot any issues you’re having, and brainstorm design ideas. I call it a Home Coaching Session! Then I’ll create an even more custom Mood Board based on our conversation.
It’s such an easy, approachable way to jump start your next room refresh project.
